British Design {Gray & Turner}

March 21, 2012

Love this new furniture collection from Bethan Gray, award winning designer for the likes of Habitat and John Lewis, and respected furniture developer Thomas Turner, aka Gray & Turner. As the blurb says, ‘Bethans designs are warm, honest and liveable…with this new collection focusing on intriguing combinations of natural materials’, spot on i say.

The collection launches at Clerkenwell Design Week in May, but do take a peek online here.

Objects {Lara Hutton}

March 20, 2012

I love organic shapes and colours especially when i come across them in ceramics {think Mud Australia, Brickett Davda etc…} so it was inevitable that i was drawn to Lara Hutton’s Objects. For those of you not familiar with Lara, she is a very sought after Aussie stylist and designer with impeccable taste and a delicate sense of style. I’m a big fan.

Objects is an extension of her styling work that started as a creative hobby. Photography by Anson Smart {another uber talented Aussie} has captured the subtle, delicate feel of the objects perfectly i think.

Wednesday Wishlist

March 14, 2012

Things have been keeping me from the blog just lately, not all of them fun, but i’ve not forgotten you! I’ve been piling stuff in my mental ‘blog’ drawer to share with you all,  so first a bit of a wish list of things i’m loving right now.

{From top} Beautiful blue crockery from Elephant Ceramics, nautical inspired wall flag from Blacklist Studio Prints, and finally the new collection from Toast is as always right up my street but i have fallen head over heels for the Mimosa bedlinen, yum!

Australian Artist {Belynda Henry}

February 21, 2012

Finally, we had a nice sunny weekend here in Sydney so a stroll around the park, stopping for a picnic, followed by a trip to our favourite pub for a swift pint was in order. Opposite said pub is the Richard Martin gallery and as we walked past i spotted the latest exhibition by Belynda Henry on display and have to say i fell in love instantly. Husband was rather keener to get to his Guinness so i couldn’t persuade him to venture inside so i popped back on my own and thought i’d share with you lovely people as i know you’ll appreciate it!

I love her colour palette and would happily have any of these adorn my wall, probably need to save a few more dollars before that happens though! The exhibition is running until the 7th March.

Blog Love {fellow fellow}

February 16, 2012

At the beginning of the year i stumbled across Fellow Fellow and started reading Claire’s blog, full of nice inspiration and great DIY ideas. I love the simple design and her little shop full of gorgeous products. Plus, this girl loves yellow as much as i do……

Love these printed feather gift tags.

How cool is this DIY banner? All you need is needle and thread..

Not only that, but the talented lady has designed and printed these rather gorgeous invites for her upcoming wedding {view them on her blog}. I love the bunting, polka dots and beautiful calligraphy and of course the yellow!

Nice things {Elin Green}

February 14, 2012

Love these hand turned bowls and containers from the “Knot on Wood” collection by Elin Green..

Valentine DIY {Emerald & Ella}

February 10, 2012

Yes, its Friday, phew! Last night saw a trip to the Opera house to see Laura Marling and i can honestly say it was one of my all time favourite gigs, ever. I won’t rabbit on about it but if you get the chance to see this uber talented lady i suggest you do!

Right, Valentines day, are we over it yet? Hmm, never been a huge fan but there are lots of cute makes and ideas out there in the blogesphere which gets the creative juices going. Emerald and Ella are offering a free downloadable recipes and printables booklet, available here which is rather nice of them.

Happy weekend people x
