A trip to {Calico & Ivy}

February 11, 2011

Hello again peeps, yesterday was a good day. With a trip to Calico and Ivy a new fabric shop just opened in Balmain (the baby of Calico & Ivy in Perth) how could it not be, a shop filled to the brim with bright patterned fabrics, soft beautiful wools, ribbons and craft equipment galore, a girl could spend many a happy an hour here.

The building was an old printing press and is a gorgeous light and airy space with a real sense of history. The lovely Sarah who runs the shop has filled it with lots of vintage props and furniture to display all the fabulous wares.

Many a handy craft book and notebook available, including Blighty’s very own Lisa Stickley.

Amazing selection of felts in pretty hues and beautiful Debbie Bliss wools….

And an ever growing selection of Liberty prints, the latest of which is being shipped as we speak so should be in by the end of next week.

I did come away with a few little treats for myself, hopefully i can put them to use in some projects i have in mind and can share with you next week. That lampshade i mentioned could be getting a serious makeover once i figure out how to do it! Any suggestions or hints?

Have a fab weekend folks x x

    I’m happy to have followed you to your new site and enjoy your posts.
    I love shops like this and find it difficult to keep to my shopping plan!
    You have introduced me to artists I didn’t know about.
    Thank you.
