Throw down

February 10, 2011

It’s finally finished, hurrah! The throw i’ve been knitting for the last couple of weeks is completed and snuggled nicely on the sofa waiting for some cold weather so it can be put in use (in the mean time it can just look cosy and snuggly). The original pattern gave me something that was a little on the small side, due to using different yarn, so i decided to make squares and stitch them together at the end, to make a kind of patchwork with the ribbing going different ways. Here’s the nice wool i used, two different colours together…

Here is the finished throw, whilst i was in the process of blocking (you don’t really want to see all the knitting and knitting and knitting in between). This helps get the shape of your finished item just right, so pin and then spritz with water and allow to dry.

And then voila! Here is the finsihed product, looking perfect to snuggle into with a good book.

Please note the rather scruffy looking lampshade is next on the list of makeovers. I’m thinking cute liberty prints?
